Why 2020 has changed the way we do business

In 2020 we are seeing a pandemic that is shutting down cities and flooding the news. Small business owners are seeing less traffic and it seems like the only ones thriving are grocery shops like save on foods.

This is the first time that online service has become a necessity for many businesses to survive and continue to thrive. Businesses that have a digital presence are using it to update clients, and customers on their hours of operation, continued operation and assure them of the safety procedures they are taking. Other businesses have closed their store fronts without mandates, because they have a thriving digital community and people can continue to shop or be served online. 

At the start of the year we talked about how 2020 will be our year and we will crush so many goals and accomplishments. This is something we couldn’t foresee happening. Now, it’s about how and when we are going to adapt. 2020 will challenge business owners to evolve, and become as well rounded as possible.

You must create a thriving community that will adapt with you!

  • Email your list monthly to get them used to hearing from you, and seeing you online. 
  • Build your digital presence. (Website, Blog, Social Media)
  • Establish a means of online shopping. (Online Store)
  • Serve your audience online, so they have a reason to find you.

Ways to make some extra money during this time:

I saw a dance studio that was doing online classes. To avoid people cancelling their memberships, stream and teach online! This goes for any gym, and studio.

Idea 1: People without a membership offer online access via donation!

Idea 2: Create a new product or service that can be done virtually.

Idea 3: Put products on sale.

Ideal 4: Create promos for gift cards people can use when you’re open.

Reality: People are loyal, they love your business and if you give them a deal they can’t ignore they are going to take advantage of it.

You= More cash flow during this time & guarantee they will come back!

Them= Awesome deal from a business they love.

People are sharing posts telling others to buy gift cards, but the reality is you can’t buy a gift card to every place you go. Lots of people are out of money from their job or businesses too, so sweeten your deal! Let’s pretend you’re a frequent traveler, imagine if an airline did a promo for $1,000 in flight credit for $500. Wouldn’t you buy it?
